Director

Dr Veerendra Kishan Shandilya (PhD, LPO(Ohio), BOCO & BOCP in US) – Awarded the National Award (2021-22) as the BEST REHABILITATION PROFESSIONAL in India by the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment of persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) of Government of India on December 3rd 2022, by the Honorable President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi. Passionate & dedicated Prosthetist & Orthotist professional for more than 38 years, certified from both the Boards of USA (BOC & ABC) – Doctorate in Prosthetics for his patented endoskeletal prosthetic knee joint design which is economically very low cost & functional for amputees in India and has been successfully fitted to many in Hon Prime Minister’s artificial limb camps.

Conferred with Life time Achievement Award by His Excellency the Governor of Tamilnadu from the Orthotics & Prosthetics Association for his dedication to O&P services on February 16th 2014. He is updated with the most advanced hi-tec in O&P like microprocessor controlled / sensor driven (Hands, elbows, knees, ankles & foot) prostheses. He and his team under his direct supervision are instrumental in bringing more than 9 lakhs physically challenged persons to the mainstream and helping them live a respectable and independent life from just new born babies to senior most geriatric patients, being Associate Director of Jaya Rehabilitation Center in Bidada, Kutch (7.7 L) since the Gujarat earthquake & Kashiben Children’s Hospital, Vadodara (1.80 L alone since 1985) & Founder President of Amputee Association of India Trust, helping many who are socially & economically deprived.

He was also instrumental in the modernization project for ALIMCO (Govt of India) as the only subject expert. His innovative approach has two patents and many more coming. He is a teacher & faculty to many colleges (India & USA), speaker in seminars & conferences (India, Hongkong, Nepal, Canada), Chairing the scientific committee sessions with judgements, sharing his Knowledge, clinical expertise & experience. Rendered honorary services for the rehabilitation of the Earthquake victims of Kutch, Nepal and Albania(Europe).
